How on earth do I even begin to put into words the absolute magnificence that A Stone in the Sea was for me? A.L. Jackson has completely captured both my heart and my mind with this book. I was so immersed in this storyline, I just couldn't put it down until the very last line. This love story of Sebastian and Shea. It should have been easy. It should have been the beautiful, electric relationship that leapt off the pages of my ereader and warmed me from head to toe. But with all great love, it was complicated. And passionate. And hard at times. But it was real and I became so consumed, just as our couple was, that I didn't notice all the ugly that existed outside that little piece of heaven. The fact that Sebastian never told his girl why he was in her sleepy little town in Georgia. Or what he did for a living. Being a man who was well-known in the public eye, he just wanted to lose himself for a little while, get away from the destruction that he inevitably caused, whether warranted or not, and stay out of trouble. But meeting the gorgeous waitress and having his heart stolen in a way he never thought possible, Sebastian couldn't help but get caught up in world that might eventually cause his ultimate downfall. And he would wonder endlessly if Shea's heart might get obliterated just by knowing him and she'd never find the pieces to make it feel whole ever again. Sebastian just didn't know if he could take that risk. But he did and now we all wonder if their love will ever truly be enough to shield themselves from the endless lies, the overwhelming hurt and the trouble that seems to follow both of them at every turn. With both Sebastian and Shea holding deep secrets, it may just be a matter of time before everything is destroyed for good.
Oh my goodness. I don't think a couple has affected me quite the way Sebastian and Shea have. I feel their deep affection, their desperation at wanting everything yet always finding it just a bit out of their grasp. Their chemistry is off the charts beautiful. The way the author writes about their time alone makes you believe without a doubt that perhaps love can conquer all. That it doesn't matter what happens outside of their perfect world, it only matters what occurs inside their hearts.
This is a masterfully written book that I cannot recommend highly enough. A.L. Jackson is a go-to author for me and with each new journey, I am in even more awe of her talent than I was before. She flawlessly uses secondary characters as the perfect compliment to the hero and heroine. They simply add just the right touch and never detract from the true stars of the show. Yet you couldn't imagine the story without them.
I am beside myself that I have to wait for book 2, but this story deserves the time and attention I know the author will give it in order to give it the satisfying conclusion I long to read.
This author puts her own heart and soul into every single sentence and when you are finished with those very last words, your can feel you own spirit soar. Yes, that is what this book did for me. And I know you'll feel the exact same way.
A huge 5++++++ stars with an even larger smile to go with it.

A Stone in the Sea Bleeding Stars Volume 1 AL Jackson 9781938404917 Books Reviews
Everytime AL Jackson releases a new story, I think, "It couldn't get any better than this one," and then... she send it out of the park. This one was no different. To say it is her best work yet is an understatement. She's got a way with words that is so unique and refreshing, she uses them to make you a part of the story you are seeing on the page. This story had me captivated from the very first page. It covered all of my emotions. I laughed, I cried, I held my breath... and I'm still holding it. The ending SHOCKED me and blew me away.
The story between Baz & Shea is sweet and romantic, but it is also raw and gritty. It doesn't just include them, it includes everyone around them. Their emotions were so strong it was as if I was sitting there feeling them right along with them. Their struggles made my heart ache, but their triumphs made me feel like I had just overcome their obstacles with them.
Normally I pay better attention but this time, I had a series sneak past me. I accidentally read "Stay" before starting at the beginning of the "Bleeding Star"s series. Yes, yes I know it's a "standalone" but most hardcore romance readers know it's better to read the books in a series in order. I kept telling myself -while reading Stay- these HAVE to be existing characters! Quick check and yep, they were. Dang-it! So once I finished Stay, I popped over and bought the rest of the series. I loved Stay and I was positive I'd love the stories that came before it. End result? 1&2 were tolerable. I HATED #3 and 4 & 5 were perfect. Hopefully #6 is as well.
The "Bleeding Stars" is very VERY long (especially this one/duet). Scenes, feelings and internal thoughts were drawn

out and almost got boring. I love A.L. Jackson's poetic style but it was a bit too much at times.
****Teeny Tiny Spoilers Ahead***
This book, A Stone in the Sea, was the first and where we're introduced to the group. I loved the guys (though the universe would be a better place without Lyrik, see book 3). I couldn't wait to read their stories. Baz was a great guy and Shea was just so super sweet. Usually single-parent heroines and heroes can be sort of annoying. My theory on this is that the author wants to you to know without a shadow of a doubt that the parent is a great parent. The end result is just beating a dead horse though. Yes. It is possible to date, have a life and be a good parent. It's really tiring to read the parent constantly rebuff the romantic interest because they don't want their child to get to know a person in their life who may not be around for long blah blah OK we GET IT! Sooooo many excuses. Shea, though? Shea was a perfect balance. She was very cautious but didn't annoy you to the point of frustration about proving she's a good mom.
Did this need to be two books? God no. But it was *sigh* so yeah, you've got a looooooong

road ahead of you if you're going to dive into this story. Here's the run down if you're still not certain
1.) Cheating? Nope! Yay!
2.) Cliffhanger? Ugh! Yes *dies*
3.) HEA? No, ugh, see above.
4.) Graphic violence or anything that might make you cringe? Nah.
6.) Sexual content? How hot was it? Too much? Not enough? Pretty decent balance, enough to keep you interested but not so much that you're over hearing about Baz' epic D. Hot but not weird-kinky or taboo. No one's banging their step-dad or twin ranchers etc.
7.) Would I recommend this book to my friends? It depend on the reader. I wont be out shooting this book's praises but if you're already here, read the blurb and dig my feedback then yeah, crack it open.
I didn't believe the negative reviews! I don't care about the story because I was so frustrated! The writing was overdone dramatic or was this kind of poetry?? She repeated 3 times same word falling falling falling, then trouble trouble trouble. Or I looked back... and then she begins 10 sentences with "back". I couldn't stand it and couldn't finish the book!
