I saw Diane Rehm speak, and I think she's fabulous.... her book is okay. If you are super interested in her life and just her experiences, then it's interesting. Not a turn pager and not the best written ever.
What an inspiring story! Enjoy the DR Show almost every day and was delighted to learn more about our most thoughtful host. Highly recommend her show and her books!
Everyone has a story. Enjoyed the book. I always admired her and now, even more.
I am a huge fan of Diane Rehm! I wanted to have a better understanding of her voice issue.
As a medical practitioner it spread light on her condition.
I'm pleased she has been able to find effective treatment and has been able to step aside from her show on her terms.
However, I do miss her.

I felt as if I was sitting and chatting with Diane. I am a big fan - and this book just increased my admiration for the role she plays on PBS. Her show is one of the very best on the air, on any radio network.
I love her show, so it was nice to learn about Diane Rehm's life and what brought her to where she is today.

What I didn't like about the book was how she wrote it -- as a journalist would, with objectivity, and just stating the facts. While she shares intimate details, I never felt connected to her. The writing didn't evoke me to feel what she felt in that moment. Maybe that was because she didn't want to relive her experiences to an even greater degree when she was writing it.

Regardless, I'm happy I read it but I don't think I will reread it.
